“As a business owner, if you don’t do digital marketing you’re going to fall behind”
In my previous blog, I gave you some key points about why small business owners ought to make their presence known on digital platforms. I have a special guest today who has achieved massive success for her business at an early age using digital marketing as her major weapon.
Meet Meha Shah, owner of Golu Cakes, shares her perspective on how digital marketing is beneficial to her business. Golu Cakes is an extremely popular home-based bakery shop due to its exquisite taste and excellent skill of the proprietor.
At first, she started with her business with the idea of gaining recognition for it other than marketing, but she later realized it doesn't raise sales as massively as she wants. As time went on, she moved towards conversion.
As she switched to digital marketing for her business, she observed a higher conversion rate and brand awareness. She also talked about databases. She said, “You can create a database to keep a record of who has become a customer so that you get more and more insight into pricing and taste trends.” There is a way to keep an eye on your competitors' work, she said. Her advice is to use a variety of media .
Further, I asked what you do in terms of organic reach?
She mentioned about Facebook page and Instagram handle for her business. “I invite people to like my pages, eventually they will appear in their feed. Share business updates in social media channels consistently as well. Don’t forget to share business success stories with your customers. It enhances brand value and builds trustworthiness. Using relevant hashtags that are trending also works.”
lastly, I asked her to suggest some indispensable tools and social media sites-
She mentioned Google My Business and WhatsApp for business. She said “Through GMB people can actually get into your location. You can engage with your customers on an individual basis and send personalized messages to them. You can also run retargeting campaigns on Facebook if you have a customer database and budget.” In terms of social media, she recommends Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
At last she said- “When you have your own business and it is connected with digital marketing it is a kind of boom. You can reach out to the people who don't know your business.” She said that it increases revenue, and it is measurable.
